ACCESSIBLE at HCI International 2009

On 19-24 July 2009, the HCI International 2009 Conference was held at San Diego, California, USA. Here, on 22 July, a specific session on the "Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction" track was centred on the advancements of HCI and Accessibility, entitled "Inherent Accessibility in Software Design, Development and Assessment". The focus of this track was on the advancements accomplished in the context of the ACCESSIBLE project, as well as its sister project, AEGIS. Several partners of ACCESSIBLE presented in this session the different research results, with the works "A Semantic Accessibility Assessment Environment for Design and Development for the Web" by K. Votis et al, "An Open Source Tool for Simulating a Variety of Vision Impairments in Developing Swing Applications" by T. Oikonomou et al, and "A Harmonised Methodology Towards Measuring Accessibility" by A. Mourouzis et al.
